COVID-19 News

  • The updated bivalent COVID-19 vaccines are now available for children ages 6 months to 5 years. Children ages 6 months to 5 years who were vaccinated with Moderna are eligible to receive one bivalent booster two months after their second dose of the primary series. Children ages 6 months to 4 years who received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine will receive the bivalent vaccine as the third dose in their primary series. Children in this age group who already completed all three doses of Pfizer are not presently eligible for a bivalent booster. Data on the efficacy of a bivalent Pfizer booster will be reviewed in January.

  • As COVID-19 cases rise, the updated bivalent booster remains the one of the best tools we have to protect ourselves against severe disease, hospitalization, and death, and yet less than 1 in 5 people five years of age and over in the U.S. have gotten the updated booster. Encouraging people to stay up to date on their vaccination is particularly important as we approach the holidays, so check out these resources from the “We Can Do This” campaign that can be searched by language, audience, and material type.

  • Temporary protected status (TPS) for Haitians who were residing in the U.S. as of November 6, 2022 has been extended through August 3, 2024. Anyone in the US can use this tool to find immigration law practitioners who provide free or low-cost services in some situations.
