COVID-19 News

  • The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) called for additional vigilance among countries across the Americas as COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths rise alongside increases in cases of other transmissible diseases, including viral hepatitis, influenza, monkeypox, and other respiratory illnesses. To avoid further stress on health systems, PAHO emphasized the importance of influenza vaccination campaigns and urgent investment in health infrastructure.
  • In response to rising COVID-19 cases coinciding with the beginning of summer activities, CDM has collaborated with the Lower Shore Vulnerable Populations Task Force to design a series of Spanish & English resources to encourage everyone to enjoy the summer while also taking precautions so that COVID-19 doesn’t interfere with summer fun. CDM created a library where you can download any of the graphics or a flier for print.
We are also sharing the editable canva files so that you can make changes to the graphics, like adding your organization’s logo or adding information about a specific vaccination clinic. IMPORTANT: Please make a COPY of the canva file for the graphics or flier before you start to make changes – thanks!
  • CDM recently published a blog, available in Spanish and English, about the Test to Treat program. Test to Treat sites are meant to serve as a one-stop shop for anyone who suspects they may have contracted COVID-19: COVID-19 testing is available on site, and if an individual tests positive, they can consult with a health care provider about treatment options such as antiviral pills that are also available at that site. To learn more, check out our blog!
  • This week, PPP partner Migrant Clinicians Network (MCN), will be hosting two webinars (one in English and one in Spanish) about the dangers of chemical exposures at work and how workers can protect themselves. Details for each of the webinars are below.
    • Webinar in English: Wednesday, June 8, at 1:00 PM ET – Sign up here!
    • Webinar in Spanish: Thursday, June 9, at 1:00 PM ET – Sign up here!

Audio: English, Spanish.
