Recently, the FDA approved an updated, monovalent booster dose for COVID-19, specifically the XBB1.5 variant. The CDC recommended that every person 6 months and older older, regardless of previous vaccination status, should be vaccinated with the updated mRNA vaccine if they have not received a booster dose in the last two months.

The vaccine will be available at no cost to people without health insurance through pharmacies that are participating in the CDC’s Bridge Access Program or through state and local health departments.
