  • As of May 12, noncitizens traveling to the United States by air or land will no longer be required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination. The White House also announced that the vaccination requirement for federal employees and contractors will end on May 11, along with the COVID-19 public health emergency.
  • If you’re unable to participate in the learning collaboratives facilitated by Migrant Clinicians Network (MCN), you can still access the resources MCN shares with participants. This website houses meeting recordings, slides, and other resources like informational fliers about the new bivalent booster eligibility and impending end of the COVID-19 public health emergency.
  • Last week was World Immunization Week, and the World Health Organization (WHO), highlighted “The Big Catch-Up,” or the need to restore international vaccination coverage levels to pre-pandemic levels. Find WHO resources for promoting vaccination here.

  • As of April 24, the Maryland Department of Health transitioned its GoVax hotline to 2-1-1. Marylanders should now call 2-1-1 for assistance with locating a COVID-19 vaccine.

Virginia

  • On May 6-7, Remote Area Medical will host a clinic in Harrisonburg at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds. Clinic fliers, available in Spanish and English, detail clinical services that will be available. The Central Shenandoah Health District will be on site to provide free flu, Hep A, COVID-19, Tdap, and Shingrix vaccinations, as well as free at-home COVID-19 test kits and condoms.

  • In line with the most recent CDC guidance, CORE Georgia vaccination sites will no longer be administering the original, monovalent vaccines and have transitioned to administering only updated, bivalent vaccines for anyone 6 months and older.
